Protecta Service Transit is a tested transit device for penetrations in fire-rated walls and floors where the services are likely to change. It maintains fire and smoke resistance while allowing cables, pipes and conduits to be added or altered afterwards without stripping out and reinstalling the firestopping, which makes it well suited to risers, data rooms and any installation expected to be modified. The intumescent expands rapidly at around 105 deg C, and the unit is supplied with a plug and cap for unused transits.
