Protecta’s coated batt product is the FR Board: a high-density stone wool core faced with a fire retardant coating, used to firestop larger openings carrying pipes, cables and joints. It is the mainstay solution where an opening exceeds around 30mm and a sealant or wrap alone will not do, and it is tested across the EN 1366 series for penetration and linear joint seals. The board is UV, moisture and frost resistant with a stated minimum service life of 30 years, and is covered by two European Technical Assessments.
