Description

This is the grey component A base of Jotun Penguard HSP, a two component polyamide cured high build epoxy coating for new construction steelwork. Penguard HSP is used as a primer, mid coat, finish coat or single coat system on carbon steel, galvanised steel, stainless steel, aluminium and shop primed steel, and it is valued for fast dry to recoat and dry to handle times and for application down to 0 deg C.

  • Component A is mixed with Penguard HSP component B at 4 parts to 1 part by volume, so this 16 litre base pairs with a 4 litre curing agent to give 20 litres of mixed paint
  • 73 per cent volume solids, applied at 60 to 250 micron dry film thickness with 125 micron typical
  • Applied by airless spray, with brush used for stripe coating and small areas

Note that this is an anticorrosive epoxy primer, not an intumescent coating, and carries no fire rating of its own.
