Description

Fire-teK BD 917 is a rigid, non-combustible rock mineral wool slab faced on one side with reinforced aluminium foil, made by Knauf Insulation for the fire protection of steel HVAC ductwork. It is used on horizontal and vertical ducts, ducts passing through compartment walls and floors, kitchen extract ducts, and ducts above clean rooms and air plenums. The foil facing gives a clean finish where ductwork is exposed, and the slab also contributes thermal and acoustic performance.

  • 45mm thickness gives 45 minutes and 90mm gives 90 minutes on vertical and horizontal ducts
  • Rock mineral wool with a melting point above 1000 degrees C
  • Odourless, rot-proof and non-wicking, absorbing under 0.004 per cent moisture at 90 per cent humidity
