Fireproof sponge impregnated and coated with intumescent material. It is very flexible yet remains stable in small and large apertures alike, so it can be packed into irregular openings.
The sponge does not burn in a fire, it simply chars, and the intumescent coating closes the gap to form a passive fire-stopping barrier. It is used on expansion and movement joints, glass screen walls, metal cladding, modular buildings and service penetrations.
